Pick what works best for you as some people get more success with a diagram while others prefer an outline.

  • Introduction. It comprises the essay’s initial paragraph and introduces your audience to the concept you intend to address in the paper. The introduction also aims at capturing the interest and attention of the reader. Ensure that the first sentence has a hook with the second and subsequent sentences clarifying the opening statement. Finally, conclude the paragraph with the thesis statement.
  • Body. The section becomes crucial to the essay as it contains the explanations, descriptions, and arguments about the subject selected. Each main idea has to form a body paragraph, and the number of paragraphs will get determined by the number of main ideas captured in the outline. Please ensure that every section addresses one primary argument, which in turn supports your thesis statement.
  • Conclusion. It comprises the last paragraph in your essay. It has to restate the thesis statement using a slightly different wording compared to the one in the introduction. The conclusion should also summarize the arguments discussed in the essay’s body text. Finally, the last sentence in your conclusion section has to communicate the end of your paper.
